Science Fiction Typewriter / Tide Pump!
A secretary 100 years ago would type a letter on a sheet of paper and mail it, then the recipient would get it in about 5 to 7 days.
With today’s technology, if you were to walk into that office, and tell that secretary that she can type that letter without paper and send it to any recipient in the world instantly, from the typewriter, she would probably ask, are you writing a science fiction novel?
Now imagine dredging the Mississippi River without fuel and that the river will stay at the required depth automatically.
This is the technology that is being developed by the Tide Pump project.
If this sounds like science fiction, consider this:
A banker asked Alexander Graham Bell to get that toy out of his office. That toy was the telephone. And you know, the banker was right, because the smart phone, is a toy.
Albert Einstein said, for an idea that does not at first seem insane, there is no hope.
The Tide Pump project is a work in progress that as it develops it will allow ships to carry more cargo into the Port of New Orleans. A modified version of the pump, will capture sediment in the Mississippi River using solar energy and syphons then deliver the sediment into the Louisiana wetlands.
This is important because if a ship could have just one inch deeper draft of water in the river, it could carry five million dollars of more cargo. In addition, the pump system will potentially save millions of dollars in fuel cost while capturing the sediment.
Any donation you send will accelerate the development.
By not capturing the sediment, the river will silt-up and become too shallow for large ships. The sediment will then flow into the gulf. Capturing the sediment will increase the capacity of the oceans, and give the water from the melting artic ice a place to go without raising the ocean levels. The pump system will also reduce the need for carbon base fuels which addresses earth warming, by converting various forces of nature into clean useful energy.
Nations around the world with coastlines will have an interest in the Tide Pump project. Like in the United States, ocean level and earth warming data show that land loss will reduce agriculture and cause people to be displaced from their communities. It is possible to reverse these effects if enough nations implement this developing technology.
You can help with a donation, thank you for your support!
Something to think about: The Wright Brothers first flight was 120 feet. They invented propulsion in flight. Then others have built upon that over the decades and brought us to Mars. Reversing the ocean levels is a massive undertaking, even futile. If we start with what we have, what will the decades bring us?
